My journey into the world of implementation has been a vibrant adventure, transforming operational chaos into streamlined efficiency with my trusty sidekick, Smartsheet. From my beginnings as a technical writer to evolving into a project manager, my role has shifted dramatically due to my adeptness with this powerful tool. At Middleby Coffee Solutions Group, I initially utilized Smartsheet to manage small workflow tasks but quickly expanded its use to tackle more complex systems integration, such as linking Smartsheet with Syteline. This allowed us to enhance the engineering change process and provide real-time quality testing insights, revolutionizing how we tracked product and part issues.

At Middleby, my first major task was to overhaul our outdated tracking systems. Imagine a bustling beehive—everyone busy but disorganized. Smartsheet became the central hub of activity, a beacon of clarity. By setting up comprehensive dashboards, I enabled the team to track projects, milestones, and critical data efficiently. This clarity turned Smartsheet into a game-changer, shifting our approach from reactive firefighting to proactive strategic planning. The tool’s transparency and real-time capabilities allowed us to anticipate challenges before they escalated, significantly boosting morale and productivity.

The thrill of implementation continued at The Line Experience, a startup in the bicycle industry with ambitious goals. Here, Smartsheet was instrumental again, helping track community engagement initiatives and event planning, ensuring all stakeholders had instant access to up-to-date information. This shift to data-driven decision-making was transformative, making every process more targeted and effective.

The introduction of Connecteam at The Line was a pivotal expansion of my implementation role. As The Line prepared to launch multiple locations, managing a growing team became increasingly complex. Connecteam streamlined employee scheduling, training, and incident reporting. This cloud-based platform acted like a Swiss Army knife for team management, allowing us to maintain a dynamic and easily updatable knowledge base for all critical SOPs.

With Connecteam, team coordination became seamless. Employees could view schedules, update availability, and access training modules anytime, anywhere. This centralized approach not only enhanced operational efficiency but also ensured rapid response to any incidents, keeping our operations smooth and compliant.

Reflecting on my path, the journey through implementation has been exhilarating. Each project, from enhancing visibility at Middleby with Smartsheet to revolutionizing operations at The Line with Connecteam, has deepened my passion for making work life more enjoyable and productive.
